Phillip Messineo
Dr. Phillip Messineo obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree summa cum laude at Life University College of Chiropractic in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born and raised in New York City where he developed an early interest in neuroscience, nutrition and preventative healthcare. At the age of 15, he first experienced the wonders of chiropractic care. As an athlete and musician, he had musculoskeletal discomforts and injuries over the years. One morning, upon waking up he had severe neck pain and was unable to turn his neck to the right, a condition called pseudo- torticollis. Luckily, his parents brought him to the family chiropractor. After two visits, he had full neck range of motion restored and his neck pain resolved.
Dr. Messineo received his Bachelor of Science degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at Boston University. Although interested in medical school and speech-language pathology, he kept gravitating towards holistic, non-invasive health care, searching for the root cause of body dysfunction. He shadowed medical doctors and physical therapists and worked as a nursing assistant at a hospital, but what he saw in the conventional medical model was not a good fit. He decided to become a chiropractor, seeking to optimize people’s health without drugs or surgery.
In his free time, Dr. Messineo enjoys playing tennis, traveling and spending time with family. He and his longtime partner, Bryan, are thrilled to be back in the Boston area.
